The combination of water and fire must be in a perfect blend, if, it is not one out of two element start to dominating  causing devastation to happen.

  1. Nature always maintains a perfect blind between these two divine elements, but,
  2. somehow this blend has now been disturbed resulting now we have natural calamities in the case of the Las Vegas fire.

If you need to extinguish the fire -

  1. you need water elements either you must store that in advance or you have an educated supply.
  2. If we cannot work on the water then, certainly, be ready with that preparation through which the approaching fire intensity should calm down.

If we go into the geographical explanation-

  1. why this devastating fire has been exploded
  2. then it comes to our mind, in light of the aforementioned reasons
  3. the inadequate presence of water elements is missing which has caused the high rate of evaporation and scanty vegetation.
  4. Friction between the dry leaves of vegetation has triggered the fire which expanded in the direction of the wind propagation.

These are some of the explanations of elements which now we are going to discuss in detail.

So, -

  1. now look at the geographical position of Las Vegas it is affected by coastal topography.
  2. In the vicinity we have an elevated area at a higher altitude named as Great Basin.

If, we look into the geographical definition of wind -

  1. "it is that horizontal movement of air,
  2. in which air moves from the high-pressure zone toward the low-pressure zone,
  3. following pressure gradient."

On the earth, we have 03 types of wind categories -

  • the largest one is the permanent winds examples of which are
  1. the equatorial Easterlies,
  2. temperate Westerly and
  3. polar Easterlies.

  • In addition to it, in the middle category, we have seasonal winds -
  1. such as the Southwest monsoon of India and these winds accompanied by respective seasons.

  • The smallest unit we have in the local area where at the particular period of the year, on a particular smaller unit area, we have some movement of local winds such as
  1.  "loo" of India or
  2. "Santa Ana" of USA.

-Yes, this is Santa Anna local which is causing that devastation form of this wildfire-

Santa Ana is a local wind of the USA which-

  1. blow in the middle of July to October
  2. from the gate basin high altitude area
  3. towards a lower relief feature of the Sonoran desert or Gulf of California.

Now, if, -

  1. you observe closely this Gulf of California which is in the vicinity of the Sonoran desert, and
  2. in the latitudinal position it is an area of less precipitation
  3. in addition to that the year 2024 received the minimum amount of precipitation over Las Vegas and surrounding regions.

Less amount of precipitation -

  1. in simple terms results in more drier region
  2. that means less availability of water
  3. which automatically triggered an area with a high amount of evaporation.
  4. A high amount of evaporation means rapid loss of groundwater
  5. so more is scanty and arid vegetation.

👉NCERT-GEOGRAPHY-Hindi👀

  1. More scanty and arid vegetation means with the wind blow movement more fiction between the dried vegetation or leaves.
  2. And, as, we know an intense repetition of friction caused by increased temperature means a flammable condition that triggers fire In the wild and scanty vegetation area.

The same has happened in the case of "Las Vegas fire" because -

  1. dry climatic conditions,
  2. arid and semi-arid vegetation, and
  3. intense moment of Santa Ana winds.

But, take a break -

  1. we have discussed that the period of this Santa Ana wind movement is between July to October
  2. then why it is happening in January??
  3. so the simple answer is global warming
  4. because a great chunk of scientist majority is of opinion
  5. that it is, also, fueled by global warming which has caused a higher temperature for a longer period
  6. The continuous persisting arid situation, in variably pressure gradient, has caused the movement of serial intense local wind Santa Ana up to this time of year.

If -

  1. we have a panoramic view of residential culture over here,
  2. on a high note proportionally good woodwork you will find in every home
  3. this availability of mass-dried wood provided the fuel for the propagation and expansion of this fire.

In a nutshell, so, if we summarize -

  1. the first reason is global warming driven long period dry conditions,
  2. either natural or human-made fire triggers friction and
  3. the movement of local wind that blows out air supply to transform fire into devastation.

So, -

  1. it is a cocktail of natural geographical factors, in addition,
  2. human-made climatic disasters.

Actually, nature indicates that don't take nature for granted otherwise we will pay the price.

Thanks

Note-

As a precautionary measure USA's FDS HAS BANNED red dye 3, because health concerns have been expressed, same kind of attention we need in dealing natural heath issues, in middle of #LosAngelesFire

Thanks.
