  1. The Republic of Cyprus
  2. Turkish,
  3. Two island territories held by the government of the UK as British territories.
  4. Simultaneously, in the middle of Cyprus, we have a United Nations buffer zone which separates Turkish Cyprus and the "Republic of Cyprus".

It is occupied by a United Nations peacekeeping force known as the "United Nations Buffer Zone".

 History-

  1. In 1571, the Ottoman Empire had Turkey, Cyprus, and parts of Europe, so technically in history the Cyprus was part of the Ottoman Empire.

  3. In 1878 the Cyprus became a British colony.
  4. It gained independence in the year 1960.
  5. Now, same as the story that was done by Pakistan with Indian independence.
  6. In 1974, Greece supported a military coup was there in Cyprus. In reaction to that, the Turks invaded Cyprus.
  7. And that is why the "Republic of Cyprus" and "Turkey" establish the same notion of relationship, which is between Indian and Pakistan.

Conclusion-

Turkey, to counter India, has already done its defence tactics, where it is selling its defence weapons to Bangladesh and the Maldives.

By visiting the "buffer zone" and looking over "Turkey occupied North Cyprus - TOC", the prime minister has given a clear indication to Turkey who I am and who is India, be cautious about us 🫵

That is why

  1. Given its geographical location,
  2. its historical history and
  3. Importance for India in terms of strategic location and economic partnership prospects
The prime minister is making his visit to Cyprus.
