In the parliamentary form of the government, such as India/Britain, -

  1. The "head of government, that is the Prime Minister," is a part of the Central legislature;
  2. Simultaneously, the ministers are also part of the Central legislature, whether it is the Lok Sabha Rajya Sabha.

That means the majority of the government is driven out of the 50% + 1 majority of total seats in the legislature.

Against it in the presidential form of the government the head of the government that is the president is indirectly elected, but directly selected, by the votes of people where the majority is given out of the voting percentage named as "first past the post system" in which the highest polling candidate wins the elections.

In the USA, the president, as the head executive, and his secretary are not members of the Central legislature.

This distinction of majority given by the seats, as in the parliamentary form of system, and the majority driven by the Vote percentage, as in the US electoral system, is the main reason why the US has, on a rotating basis, a one-party system.

To understand the "One Party System of the US" electoral system, we need to understand the relevance of the smaller parties, in respect of winning seats in the parliamentary system.

For this, we need to recall the year of 1996 when the Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then PM of India, government fell just because of one vote shortage when J. Jayalalitha, the late politician from Tamil Nadu, withdrew her party's support from the Vajpayee government; as a consequence, the government fell.

The same was the case with the Manmohan Singh government, in the year 2008, when in the name of the Nuclear Deal with America, the communist party of India withdrew its support from the Manmohan Singh government.

At that time, with the extended support of the Samajwadi Party and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, the government secured its majority vote through a vote of confidence.

Now take the 2014 -& and 2019 government example.

  1. The BJP-led National government won 50% + 1 majority seat on its own, that is why the government was stable against the present government, which fell short of a majority by 32 seats, so it depends upon its regional party allies in respect of securing seats majority".
  2. That means the whole Government and the parliament system depend upon “seat majority” and each seat has its implication whether the present government is in the existence or will fall tomorrow.

Now with this understanding of the parliamentary form of government, the presidential form of Government needs to secure one time a majority of votes, and, if secured, it will serve for the whole tenure, which means the possibility of a midterm poll, due to the withdrawal of support, is not present there.

So, the head of the government secures the percentage of vote majority and not the seat majority. That’s why not subject to legislative procedure and a “vote of confidence”.

Note-

  1. Now, one important fact we need to note, even the American Constitution does not mention the party political system.
  2. This is the reason the first President of the US, George Washington, did not belong to any political party.

Why, on the alternative stage, one political party system in US?

The conventional US political system developed with two major political parties,

  1. one is the “Democrats”, and,
  2. second “Republicans”.

The organization of the political parties is so strong that only these parties can secure the majority of votes. It doesn't mean the US political system does not have any political parties.

By going through the above diagram, we can understand that the US has different political parties along with their respective percentage presence.

But, simultaneously it also reflected that the vote percentage is very much marginal much so that not even be imagined to secure the voting percentage majority except the "DEMOCRATES" and "REPUBLICANS"

So, in this case, now, the Real Question Arises, WHY ELON MUSK has decided to float a new political party, "THE AMERICAN PARTY" –

  1. In the last election, a large amount, in millions of dollars, was provided by Elon Musk to Donald Trump.
  2. Both are top-class businessmen in American society and the economy.
  3. Both are capital-centric mindsets, where it could be the intention that the American economy must flourish with a more stable, accommodative, and inclusive nature.
  4. MAGAMake America Great Again- was the reflection and slogan of that intention, with support from Elon Musk. That is why Elon Musk was given the charge of Dogea Body responsible for reducing the US government spending and cutting jobs.
  5. Cutting jobs means the clear-cut promotion for AI-generated Elon Musk's business interest.
  6. Perhaps the business and politics could not go together, so both separated from each other.
  7. It is not something that Elon Musk was not aware of the political gap between him and Donald Trump, but still he supported Donald Trump's election, because some common ground of economic interest was behind this deal.
  8. But, as happens in every case same happens here. Your political friend now becomes your best political enemy.
  9. Now, 🤔 to have a political enemy, you need to be a political personality, so float a political party first.
  10. Before floating his political party, which uptill now has not been on the ground except the name, he must have done some homework to have a solid foundation in the present US political system.

For this we need to look the the evergreen political issues in US politics. Those issues are-

Taxation-

  1. Democrats support a high Tax regime, which Republicans call as "death tax" and favor a lower tax to support capitalism.

Minimum Wages-

  1. Democrats support "cuts in capitalist CEO salaries" and "higher Minimum Wages" for the labour class.
  2. Republicans again counter that in support of capitalism.
  3. It argues that higher minimum veg wood costs the medium business and businessmen, which is the backbone of the American economy.

Arms Control-

  1. Democrats favour a strict Control through regulation on individual arms.
  2. Where the Republicans again take a soft stand on arms control and related acts.
By the way, it is an astonishing fact that "provisions of individual private arms" in America are in anticipation that "when the state becomes anarchy," the citizens have the right to protect themselves through private arms.

Health Issues-

  1. One of the costliest health services in the world is America's health services, and without insurance, you are not able to access affordable and effective health services.
  2. So, basically, it is a capitalism-driven industry in which insurance is also a capitalist instrument.
  3. The most seriously affected on those who have recently migrated to the USA or are on a work Visa or through any means, residing in the country.

Abortion-

  1. Democrats fully support the individual woman's Liberty.
  2. Whereas republicans, driven by Christian thoughts, consider abortion an unethical and illegal practice.

Immigration-

  1. Republicans considered the increasing number of immigrants a threat to National interest
  2. Democrats are against these thoughts considering America as a melting pot and recognizing that it is diverse people coming, wondering what America is today.

NOTE-

  • Now, because Elon Musk is one of the immigrants who was not born in America, but migrated from Africa to the US.
  • This is the first point that could act as a starting backbone for Elon Musk's political party. By supporting the immigrant issue, a triggered political base can be achieved.

Environment-

  1. Republicans do not consider the environment as a serious threat and even nor the man-made phenomena.
  2. Whereas the Democrats are more concerned and inclusive in dealing with environmental issues.
  3. From the side of the Republicans, this was the reason why Donald Trump decided to come out of the Paris agreement.

Now, with all these ups and downs-

  1. When it is clear Elon Musk will not be able to be the president of the United States of America because he is not a U.S.-born born.
  2. Second, which has not been done for the last century, how can it happen during Elon Musk's life, to be the third front political party that can compete for the presidential election effectively?

So, for what purpose is Elon Musk going to float his own political party? This could be the reason?

  1. Every 2 years, there is an election for the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (with a tenure of 2 years) and one-third of the Senate (with a tenure of 6 years).
  2. When every Bill needs to be passed by "Congress", the name of the USA Parliament, Elon Musk's calculation could be that in every house, whether the House of Representatives or Senate, we should have our representative in US politics.
  3. For example, had it been voted in the Senate, Elon Musk could have stopped the "Big Beautiful Bill" of Donald Trump, which was passed only after the casting vote of Vice President JD Vans.

By having the communication with democrats and Republican voters, you can easily understand -

  1. There is a sharp critical political thought difference even between the voters and each other, considering themselves superior.
  2. But, American Politics also has a third section, having its significant presence in terms of echoing its voice.
  3. Elon Musk needs to work hard on this section of voters in a continuous and sustained manner, starting from the germination to harvesting the crop of political power, which will take a long time given the nature and the conventions of US politics.

Thanks.
