Questions-
- Is the Global South and the Third World the same?- Yes, all third-world countries are included in the Global South.
- Is China in the Global South?- Yes.
- Is India in the Global South?- Yes
- Is Brazil in the Global South?- Yes
- Is Whole Africa in the Global South?- Yes
- Is Australia in the Global South?- No
In the study of Ecology, we have the concept of ecological
relationships, where we have 6 types of relationships-
- Predatory,
- Competitive,
- Parasitism,
- Mutualism,
- Commensalism, and
- Amensalism.
Suppose we do a comparative study with these ecological relationships in international politics, where three prominent relationships could be -
- Predatory,
- Competitive, and
- Parasitic.
From a historical point of view, along with the present context circumstances, -
- It came to experience that the flow of energy is "not universal", and
- If it is not universal,
- The stratification is bound to happen, which has always been there.
With the following figure, we can easily understand what I am
trying to say.
- India's per capita income is $2500, against
- China's nearly $13000,
- Russia $14809, and
- the US's $89105.
- On another hand, the per capita income of South Sudan, the poorest country in the world, is just $252 per year.
- This disparity in the world,
- particularly in that continent which is the richest continent on the earth,
- signals how economic, social, and political stratification
- has caused a large population section of this world to be subjected to exploitation -& deprivation.
The terminology used for this stratification is "Global North and Global South", where the North is well-versed with economic, social, and political well-being, which is just the opposite in respect of the Global South.
This division or stratification of the North and South is the outcome of this predatory type of relationship, where the Global North has fed upon the Global South?

Now, there are two (02) ways to balance your competitors-
- Either you should enter directly with conflict with the intention of suppression. It is a costly method without any guarantee, and if get fails, you will be hit hard.
- But, the other (second) "safe side and guaranteed method" is to strengthen the process of decentralisation that would demand equal distribution of resources, and, if this doesn't happen, the opposition would raise.
To make the "opposition rise," you need to wisely
choose the Allies and make them stronger.
Through this notion,-
- We can understand by strengthening the African Nations or the Global South Nations that much
- So these nations can raise & Make demands,
- resulting in more decentralisation of resources in the world order
- So the dominance of the “Global North” would be gradually declining,
- Which would be, ultimately, ensuring a more balanced global order.
Now -
- Over the last 11 years, particularly the economic, social, and political dynamics, in the context of the world narrative, have undergone a 360-degree change.
- Now India has a transforming relationship with big powers such as the USA, the EU, Russia, and China.
- Out of these, the US and the European Union mean the Global North.
- Russia is in a state of middle between the Global North and Global South, where it maintains a fantastic relationship with India, followed by China.
- On the other hand, China and India are the major players of the Global South.
At present, "Bharat Prime Minister
NARENDRA MODI" is on a five-nation tour, and all are from the "Global
South community".
Epistemology of the
"GLOBAL SOUTH" -
- Carl Oglesby, who was writing in the catholic journal COMMONWEAL on the Vietnam War, first used the term the "Global South".
- In which he was arguing that for centuries, the North's dominance over the global south has caused the "intolerable social issues".
- Over the centuries, that terminology has gained more and more recognition, which was based on the Sharp political and economic division.
- The north was well versed with political and economic prosperity, and just the reverse of it was the global South countries, particularly the developing countries, where the major players are China, India, and Brazil.
- A line that divides the North-South division came to be known as the "Brandt Line".
- It was the month of January/2023 when, very vocally, the prime minister, Narendra Modi, used the term "Global South" called as "DAKSHIN", and, in consequence of that, on 17th/11/2023 prime minister inaugurated the "Global South Centre of Excellence".
- While inaugurating this centre, he made a statement that geographically, the Global South has a long-lasting in history.
Going by the nature of India (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakamas / "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम" ), as a state, we have followed that second path, which is time taken, but with guaranteed results, where the ultimate goal of decentralisation would be achieved.
The last visit the prime minister paid was in Cyprus, where an
indirect signal was given to Turkey by making a stronger Cyprus with the
defence cooperation.

- Ghana,
- Tobago -& Trinidad,
- Argentina,
- Brazil, and
- Namibia, historically, India has maintained a good relationship.
The prospects are
very high, so -
- India has to work continuously, with a sustained -& disciplined approach, to increase its trading possibilities, and
